Installation and Upgrade Introduction
Resolve Actions Pro supports several installation types aiming to address a range of needs, ranging from development to high-availability (HA) to disaster recovery (DR) setups. The deployment types are as follows:
- Standalone—A standalone deployment consists of one or more Actions Pro server machines running a single instance of each Actions Pro service. You can make optional RSRemote deployments for accessing remote resources, commonly placed behind firewalled or sectioned-off network areas. This deployment type is suitable for small installations where HA and DR are not a priority or for development and testing purposes. See Standalone Installation to learn how to make a standalone deployment.
- Clustered/Load Balanced—A clustered deployment consists of multiple Actions Pro servers installed on multiple machines. All the Actions Pro components are fully clustered to provide high availability and load balancing, with the exception of RSMQ. All cluster nodes must be in close proximity and may not be distributed geographically. You can make optional RSRemote deployments for accessing remote resources, commonly placed behind firewalled or sectioned-off network areas. See Clustered Installation to learn how to make a clustered deployment.
- Disaster Recovery: A DR deployment is a duplicate of your entire clustered environment that you can switch over to in case of failure. It is highly recommended that it is deployed in a different geographical location. See ::title to learn how to make a DR deployment.
After deploying, see Licensing Actions Pro to learn how to license your Actions Pro deployment for production use.
